We know that life happens. At Outdoor Odysseys we try to remain flexible and compassionate with those that have to change their plans while emphasizing that travel insurance should always be considered. Guests are responsible for getting themselves to and from Friday Harbor, WA for our tours. Our cancellation policy is not impacted in anyway and remains in full force regardless of travel delays with Washington State Ferries or the airlines that serve the islands. All cancellations must be received via email at paddle@outdoorodysseys.com. The refund or credit criteria and the resulting resolution is based on the date and time we receive your emailed cancellation request.
TRAVEL INSURANCE: Outdoor Odysseys strongly recommends that you consider purchasing travel insurance to offset unforeseen circumstances such as flight or ferry delays/cancellation or illness; as well as cancellation, medical and evacuation expenses. Of the many providers, we like Faye Insurance for their terrific customer service and easy claims process.Certain premium credit cards also offer trip cancellation protection and insurance and we encourage you to familiarize yourself with those terms if you use one of these products.
CANCELLATION PENALTIES AND DETAILS:
- If you cancel your reservation more than sixty (60) days prior to departure, we will issue you a full refund minus a $35 cancellation fee for non-overnight trips or $60 for overnight trips per reservation. Group bookings of 10 or more with one person or entity serving as the organizer are subject to a $250 cancellation fee. We will waive the cancellation fee if we’re able to rebook you at the time of cancellation.
- Fifty-nine (59) days to (24) hours prior to departure time, your full payment is retained and we issue you a gift card for the amount paid minus the $35 cancellation fee for non-overnight trips or $60 for overnight trips per reservation. Group bookings of 10 or more with one person or entity serving as the organizer are subject to a $250 cancellation fee. We will waive the cancellation fee if we’re able to rebook you at the time of cancellation.
- Guest cancellations less than twenty-four (24) hours from departure will not be refunded or credited; regardless of the reason.
- If the card you used to make your initial reservation is no longer active, we will offer you a check by mail and will require you to provide your physical address to us by email.
GIFT CARD CREDIT: In effort to be flexible and fair as well as standout among U.S. tour operators, our policy is to make all of our credits that we issue in the form of gift cards fully transferrable with three year validity for redemption, from the date of issuance, for the exact dollar value of the card.
CHANGED OR CANCELLED TRIPS: Because of weather or currents, it is sometimes necessary to change the route and destinations from the original tour description. While it’s an extremely rare occurrence; Outdoor Odysseys reserves the right to cancel any trip prior to departure for any reason whatsoever. The refund of all payments received shall release Outdoor Odysseys from any further liability, including expenses incurred by participants in preparing for the trip.
SOLO TRAVELERS: Outdoor Odysseys requires a minimum of two persons for a tour to be confirmed. We advise solo travelers to contact us prior to booking their trip to discuss the composition of the tour they’re considering and whether their space can be confirmed. For guests who decide to sign up for a tour that isn’t yet confirmed, you will have an opportunity to wait and see if there are other registrations, to move to another date, or to receive a full refund without penalty. However, once we confirm you on a new tour or your existing tour reaches the minimum, the regular cancellation policy is in effect.
PRODUCT ADD-ONs: If a guest decides not to take a sleeping kit that they rented from us, we will refund that fee. Bioluminescence tour add-ons on multi-day trips are refundable if the guest changes their mind or if the guide(s) need to cancel that add-on tour for safety reasons. Outdoor Odysseys merchandise is considered final sale.
THIRD-PARTY BOOKINGS: Third party cancellation policies are exclusively applicable to guests who have booked through and paid those parties for their tour with Outdoor Odysseys. In agreement with Outdoor Odysseys, the policies of third party companies will always prevail when there is conflict with our own. If a cancellation occurs, Outdoor Odysseys notifies the third parties so that they’re prepared to assist you with your refund. Booking with third parties may subject you to additional fees and terms, subject to their policies.
