We know that life happens. At Outdoor Odysseys we try to remain flexible and compassionate with those that have to change their plans while emphasizing that travel insurance should always be considered. All cancellations must be received via email. The refund or credit criteria and the resulting resolution is based on the date we receive your emailed cancellation request.
TRAVEL INSURANCE: Outdoor Odysseys strongly recommends that you consider purchasing travel insurance to offset unforeseen circumstances such as flight or ferry delays/cancellation or illness; as well as cancellation, medical and evacuation expenses. Certain premium credit cards also offer trip cancellation protection and insurance and we encourage you to familiarize yourself with those terms if you use one of these products.
CANCELLATION PENALTIES:
- If you cancel your reservation more than sixty (60) days prior, departure, we will issue you a full refund minus a $35 handling fee per reservation, to your original method of payment.
- Group bookings of 10 or more are subject to a $250 handling fee.
- If the card you used to make your initial reservation is no longer active, we can only offer you a check by mail and will require you to provide your physical address to us by email.
- Fifty-nine (59) days to (24) hours prior to departure your full payment retained and we issue you a gift card for the amount paid minus the $35 handling fee per reservation.
- Guest cancellations less than twenty-four (24) hours from departure will not be refunded or credited; regardless of the reason.
GIFT CARD CREDIT: In effort to be flexible and fair as well as standout among U.S. tour operators, our policy is to make all gift cards fully transferrable with three year validity from the date of issuance for the exact dollar value of the card.
CANCELLED TRIPS: While it’s an extremely rare occurrance; Outdoor Odysseys reserves the right to cancel any trip prior to departure for any reason whatsoever. The refund of all payments received shall release Outdoor Odysseys from any further liability, including expenses incurred by participants in preparing for the trip.
SOLO TRAVELERS: Outdoor Odysseys requires a minimum of two persons for a tour to be confirmed. As a solo traveler, if you register for a tour that has not achieved this minimum, we will reach out to let you know, at which point you will have an opportunity to wait and see if there are other registrations, to move to another date, or to receive a full refund without penalty. However, once we confirm you on a new tour or your existing tour is confirmed, the regular cancellation policy is in effect.
PRODUCT ADD-ONs: If a guest decides not to take a sleeping kit that they rented from us, we will refund that fee. Bioluminescence tour add-ons on multi-day trips are refundable if the guest changes their mind or if the guide(s) need to cancel that add-on tour for safety reasons. Outdoor Odysseys merchandise is considered final sale.
THRID-PARTY BOOKINGS: Third party cancellation policies are exclusively applicable to guests who have booked through and paid those parties for their tour with Outdoor Odysseys. In agreement with Outdoor Odysseys, the policies of third party companies will always prevail when there is conflict with our own. If a cancellation occurs, Outdoor Odysseys notifies the third parties so that they’re prepared to assist you with your refund. Booking with third parties may subject you to additional fees and terms, subject to their discretion.
