Sam grew up outside Seattle, WA, with the Cascade Mountains and the Puget Sound as his backyard. After getting a degree in Environmental Studies from the University of Washington, Sam vagabonded through Europe, Australia, and the US before finding his way home to the Salish Sea.
This lanky goof has worked at bike shops, schools, farms, and summer camps, teaching everything from swimming to blacksmithing. His latest passion has been skiing in Utah, where he plans to wait out winters until the world allows him explore foreign lands once more. He wants to find that sea-side bar in Dubrovnik again.
Sam will happily talk bikes, books, and swap adventure stories with whoever paddles closest to him.
