As a native of the Pacific Northwest, Sev loves spending time both on the water and in the mountains. While he enjoys and seeks out the adventure that accompanies backpacking, rock climbing, and kayaking, he also loves the opportunity to explore the natural history of the accompanying environments. Sev has worked in environmental education since 2005. Since first visiting the San Juan Islands in 2004, the archipelago has held a warm place in his heart that he is excited to share with Outdoor Odysseys starting in 2016.
Sev is an ACA Level 4 Open Water Coastal Kayak Instructor, and will be finishing his master’s degree in education in the spring of 2016. Sev loves to share his passion for natural history and kayaking with all who are interested with any level of experience. When not enjoying the serene waters of the San Juan Islands, he can be found paddling along Pacific coast from Alaska to Baja, climbing, biking, snowboarding, or teaching in traditional and non-traditional settings.
