Do I need to bring my own kayaking or camping gear?

sea kayak equipment and camping gearIf you have your own lifejacket (PFD), paddling jacket, or personal paddle you are welcome to bring it. We provide lifejackets, paddles, spray skirts, and dry bags for all participants joining our “Eagles and Orcas” Tours. Important gear that is often forgotten but is critical includes sunscreen, sunglasses, water for hydration and a rain jacket. You’ll miss this stuff if you forget it!

If you are going on one of our overnight trips, we will provide you with one tent per every two people. You may bring your own tent if it is small in packing size (6-7 lbs). If you own or can borrow a smaller sleeping bag and sleep pad you should consider bringing these. (The roll up Coleman-style sleeping bag that you brought to scout camp is usually too big to fit in our double sea kayaks.) Sleeping bags and inflatable pads are available for a marginal fee through Outdoor Odysseys. You will need to make arrangements with us in advance if you require these items.
