After moonlighting for Outdoor Odysseys in 2015 Sev joined the family for his first full season in 2016, bringing together his passions for kayaking, marine natural history, and gourmet cooking in the backcountry.
A Pacific Northwest native, Sev loves spending time both on the water and in the mountains. Although he didn’t find kayaking until after college, he has since made it his profession year round. Sev holds a degree as a Master of Education and during the winter months works as adjunct faculty for the adventure education department at Prescott College, instructing their international sea kayaking programs.
He has spent his countless days exploring the coastal regions and rivers seeking adventure, discovery, and engaging communities. When he’s not in on the clock he enjoys backpacking, rock climbing, and exploring coastal rock gardens, tidal races, or spectacular natural history. A few of his kayak expeditions have included locales such as Southeast Alaska, the Baja Peninsula, and running a sea kayak through the whitewater rapids of the Grand Canyon. Sev is an ACA Level 4 Open Water Coastal Kayak Instructor, Wilderness First Responder, and Advanced Swiftwater Rescue Technician.
