Katie is a paddling fanatic that grew up in Columbia, MO on the Missouri River. She has been paddling in the Salish Sea since 2017 and has been mesmerised by the waters and beings of this bioregion ever since. She graduated from Huxley College of the Environment in Bellingham WA, with an Environmental Studies degree with an emphasis in environmental education. Katie loves her family, has been a vegetarian since she was 7 years old, and is a biracial woman of European and African heritage. In College she was the Activities coordinator for the Mixed Identity Student Organization, and a facilitator at Students for the Salish Sea. She loves watching sea life, playing volleyball, whitewater kayaking, cooking, biking, dancing, risk management, whistling while she works, and all things silly. Katie has a genuine zest for life and loves sharing her time on the water with her guests.
